We are looking for a dependable, compassionate individual to provide lead transportation and DSP support to people with development disabilities in Bellevue, NE.
Job Summary:
The Lead Transportation Specialist/ Direct Support Professional (DSP) is responsible for providing transportation to people with developmental disabilities to and from waiver service sites, medical appointments, and resources and ensuring the health and safety of people being transported. This person will fill in their time between appointment by assisting our day center facilities. You will coordinate routes, fill in by driving routes as needed, and train new people who are doing routes. You will help coordinate vehicle repairs and work on the day site floor with participants in the middle of the day.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Providing professional transportation services

Driving defensively and following all traffic laws

Ensuring people make it to appointments before scheduled times

Ensuring people are not waiting past pick up times

Providing people with any needed physical assistance

Ensuring people have needed mobility and communication devices, purse/wallet, change of clothes, or any other needed items

Ensuring people are properly secured with safety devices prior to transportation

Completing daily safety checks on vehicles, lifts, and securement devices
-
Never transporting a person in an unsafe manner

Ensuring vehicles are kept clean, maintained, and stocked with needed equipment

Ensuring communication folders are picked up and delivered in a timely manner

Documenting transportation services in a web-based system to ensure proper reimbursement of services

Maintaining knowledge of each person’s current medical and specialized needs and ensuring these needs are maintained at all times
Qualifications:
-
At least one year of experience working with a person with a developmental disability or in a healthcare setting
-
Experience driving a wheelchair van, operating vehicle lifts, and securing people in wheelchairs for transportation

Valid driver’s license, current automobile insurance, and good driving record

Ability to pass background and registry checks

Must be at least 18 year old
Hours/ Shifts:
-
We are looking for full-time and part-time help.
-
Monday through Friday between the hours of 7a-5p. This does not mean you will be working 10 hour shifts; help is needed within this time frame.

Flexibility during that time frame is available as we need early morning, afternoon, or later afternoon routes covered. Therefore, hours could flex around the routes throughout the week as needed.
Pay:

Starting pay is $18 per hour.
