About the role
The Lean Manager is responsible for designing, leading, and executing a continuous-improvement strategy across the company’s field operations, back-office processes, supply chain, and project delivery workflows. This role will apply Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma, and operational-excellence tools to eliminate waste, reduce variability, and ensure the company delivers renewable-energy services safely, efficiently, and profitably. This is a high-visibility role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, scaling environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lean / CI Program Leadership
- Develop and implement a company-wide Lean roadmap tailored to renewable-energy services (field operations, project execution, O&M, engineering, procurement, logistics)
- Train, coach, and mentor employees and field leaders on Lean principles, tools, and behaviors
- Establish a culture of continuous improvement across all levels of the organization
Process Improvement & Optimization
- Conduct value-stream mapping (VSM) of critical workflows (project mobilization, resource management, QA/QC, cost tracking, procurement, etc.)
- Identify opportunities to reduce cost, increase productivity, and accelerate project timelines
- Implement standardized work, visual management, 5S and error-proofing
Field Operations Support

Partner with project managers, field supervisors, and field crews to optimize site layouts, material flow, labor utilization, and equipment deployment

Reduce downtime, rework, and bottlenecks on solar/wind/storage job sites

Lead performance-tracking and weekly/monthly “bowler” rollouts
Quality & Data Analytics

Collaborate with QA/QC to improve defect-prevention, inspection processes, and feedback loops

Use data (KPIs, dashboards, field reports) to identify trends and prioritize improvement initiatives

Drive root-cause analysis (RCA) using 5-Whys, fishbone diagrams, etc.
Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work closely with operations, engineering, procurement, HSE, finance, and IT teams

Support standardization of tools, templates, and systems to support scalable growth

Ensure Lean initiatives align with business objectives and management expectations

Qualifications
Required
-
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Business, or related field

5+ years of experience in Lean, continuous improvement, operations excellence, or process engineering

Hands-on experience applying Lean tools in operational or industrial environments

Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver measurable results
Preferred

Experience in renewable energy (solar, wind, storage), utility services, EPC, or construction

Lean Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or Black Belt)

Experience working in a high-growth, private-equity-backed or field-services environment

Knowledge of PMO practices, project controls, and field-execution workflows
