Job Overview
We are seeking a professional and customer-focused Leasing Consultant to join our property management team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leasing residential units, providing exceptional customer service, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where attention to detail, negotiation skills, and property management expertise are essential. The Leasing Consultant will serve as the primary point of contact for prospective tenants and current residents, fostering positive relationships and facilitating lease agreements efficiently.

Duties

  • Greet prospective tenants and conduct property tours, showcasing available units and amenities.
  • Manage the leasing process from application to lease signing, ensuring all documentation complies with legal standards such as Section 8, LIHTC, and Fair Housing regulations.
  • Utilize property management software such as Yardi, OneSite, and CMMS to maintain accurate data entry, filing, and tenant records.
  • Process rental applications, verify tenant information, and perform background checks in accordance with company policies.
  • Handle lease negotiations, prepare contracts, and upsell available units or additional services to prospective tenants.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with residents through phone etiquette and customer relationship management tools to foster satisfaction and retention.
  • Coordinate with property maintenance teams regarding property upkeep and facilities management issues.
  • Stay informed about legal administrative requirements related to landlord-tenant law and Section 8 programs.
  • Assist with conflict management between tenants or staff when necessary.
  • Support administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and managing tenant files efficiently.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in property management, leasing, or real estate administrative roles.
  • Knowledge of Fair Housing laws, and landlord-tenant law.
  • Proficiency with property management software a plus.
  • Strong sales skills with the ability to upsell units or services effectively.
  • Excellent customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette.
  • Experience in legal administrative procedures related to leases and contracts.
  • Ability to handle conflict resolution diplomatically while maintaining professionalism.
  • Office experience including data entry, filing systems, and administrative support functions.
  • Facilities management knowledge is a plus for coordinating property maintenance issues.
  • Strong negotiation skills paired with effective communication abilities are essential for success in this role. This position offers an engaging environment where your expertise in property leasing and administration can thrive while contributing positively to our community’s housing needs.

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24.0 per week
