Legal Administrative Assistant

Job Overview
We are seeking an organized and professional Legal Administrative Assistant to join our team of one attorney and one experienced paralegal. This role is meant to be part time, and can range from 20-30 hours/week. In this role, you will provide comprehensive administrative support in a transactional practice. This paid position offers a fantastic opportunity to develop your legal administrative experience within a collaborative and fast-paced environment. This position is ideal for someone who wants to return to the professional workforce after some time off, someone who wants to slow down from a more demanding executive assistant position, or for a college or law school student who is in evening or online classes.

Duties

  • Assist attorneys with legal case management by organizing files, tracking deadlines, and preparing for court proceedings or client meetings
  • Perform data entry and filing tasks accurately while adhering to firm procedures for document review, record keeping, and confidentiality
  • Coordinate scheduling, appointments, interviews, and client communications with professionalism
  • Learn basic processes for recording real estate documents, filing documents with court systems, and filing Secretary of State registrations for business entities.

Experience and Skills

  • Prior administrative or executive assistant experience, preferably in a legal office environment
  • Strong familiarity and experience with Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel and Outlook, as well as Adobe Acrobat and Google Suite. Preference for experience with Clio (legal case management software)
  • Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced setting
  • Proficiency in document review processes along with proofreading and transcription skills to ensure accuracy in document production
  • Knowledge of clerical tasks such as filing, data entry, phone etiquette and general administrative support necessary for smooth office operations

Education

  • Bachelor's degree preferred

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
