Job description

We’re a mid-size plaintiff’s law firm dedicated to client care. Our practice is located just outside of downtown Pittsburgh, in the Greentree area and we handle workers’ compensation, social security disability and personal injury cases.

We’ve built a team of professionals who provide a personal touch to each of our client’s cases and who focus on fighting for the money and benefits our clients need to rebuild their lives.

We need caring, driven, fast-learning legal assistants who want to make a difference for our clients – people injured through no fault of their own.

LEGAL ASSISTANT

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Supporting multiple attorneys in their day to day practice. Act as a liaison between clients, doctors, attorneys or Judge’s offices.
  • Capacity to work independently, manage large workloads, and maintain deadlines.
  • Provide administrative support for attorneys by: preparing correspondence, handling court filings, preparing documents, transcribing dictation, answering phone calls and other administrative tasks.
  • Organize and maintain client files according to firm standards. Thoroughly and accurately document client interaction and case updates.
  • Handle telephones calls appropriately by assisting in matters, including taking accurate messages and appropriately routing calls.
  • Process the incoming potential client inquiries.
  • Manage attorney/firm calendars using Outlook to coordinate and set up meetings, hearings, depositions.
  • Scan documents and maintain electronic files and folder.

Key Requirements:

  • Previous workers' compensation/social security/ personal injury, or other legal experience preferred, but not required.
  • 2+ years administrative support or education is preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Outlook required, knowledge of case management system preferred.
  • Minimum typing speed of 65 wpm.
  • Excellent customer service as well as written and verbal communication skills.
  • A fast learner with high attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask and manage changing priorities with a positive attitude and efficient approach, especially in time-pressured situations.
  • Collaborates well with others in receiving and assigning work duties.
