Job Description

The Legal and Compliance Officer plays a pivotal role in ensuring the organization's adherence to legal and regulatory requirements while supporting business operations. This position involves overseeing legal documentation, managing compliance processes, providing advisory support, and facilitating client and banking services. Additionally, the role requires effective leadership in supervising a team, enhancing operational efficiencies, and ensuring adherence to corporate governance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Draft, review, and execute legal documents, declarations, board resolutions, and compliance agreements.

Manage compliance inquiries from banks, regulatory authorities, and legal entities.

Handle RERA disputes, ESR (Economic Substance Regulations), and ML (Money Laundering) reports.

Facilitate corporate and personal bank account openings; oversee KYC submissions and compliance checks.

Manage billing, collections, reconciliations, and financial record-keeping.

Supervise and mentor team members, conduct operational reviews, and ensure alignment with compliance standards.

Act as Board Secretary: prepare agendas, schedule meetings, and record minutes for the Board of Advisors.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) or equivalent qualification.
  • Master's degree in Law (LLM), Business Law, Corporate Law, or related field (preferred).
  • 4+ years of proven experience in legal and compliance roles.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate, commercial, and regulatory law.
  • Experience in banking and financial compliance (KYC, account opening, trade finance).
  • Familiarity with corporate governance practices and board administration.
  • Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and team management skills.
  • High level of confidentiality, integrity, and attention to detail.
