Job Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our dynamic legal team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive administrative and legal support across a wide range of practice areas, including estate planning, environmental law, immigration law, family law, securities law, tribal law, patent law, and more. Your proactive approach and strong organizational skills will help ensure the smooth operation of our law office, enabling attorneys to focus on delivering exceptional legal services. Duties

  • Assist attorneys with legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other research tools to support case development and legal drafting.
  • Manage legal documents through document review, proofreading, transcription, and proper filing within document management systems such as iManage and PCLaw.
  • Support case management activities by organizing client files, tracking deadlines, and maintaining accurate data entry records.
  • Prepare legal drafts for contracts, pleadings, motions, and other documents with precision and attention to detail.
  • Conduct interviews with clients or witnesses as part of the discovery process to gather relevant information for cases involving personal injury, workers' compensation, landlord-tenant disputes, or family law matters.
  • Coordinate with multiple stakeholders through effective communication via phone etiquette and professional correspondence.
  • Perform administrative tasks including scheduling appointments, managing calendars for attorneys, handling incoming calls, and maintaining filing systems to ensure organizational efficiency.
  • Support litigation processes by reviewing documents for relevance and accuracy and assisting in trial preparation activities.
  • Utilize legal case management software to track case progress and ensure compliance with court deadlines.

Experience

  • Paralegal experience or equivalent legal administrative experience is required; familiarity with a broad spectrum of practice areas such as estate planning, environmental law, immigration law, securities law, tribal law & regulations, patent law, and workers' compensation law is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in legal research tools such as Westlaw and LexisNexis.
  • Strong writing skills with the ability to draft clear legal documents and proofread meticulously.
  • Experience with document management systems like iManage or PCLaw is preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to perform detailed research and review of legal documents while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Effective communication skills for interviewing clients or witnesses and liaising with internal teams or external parties.

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
