Our Firm practices multi-state litigation and works with a particularly high volume of case files. As a Department Supervisor with the Kohn Law Firm, the selected candidate would join our leadership team and oversee a multi-disciplinary team of approximately 15 Phone Representatives and Office Assistants working out of our office in downtown Milwaukee. (Note that the team will not include attorneys or paralegals, so a JD or legal experience is not required.)

As a multi-state Firm, experience with legal systems in the Midwest would be preferred but not required. Particular experience in Wisconsin, Illinois, or Iowa should be noted on your resume/cover letter and may be considered regarding compensation.

Essential Functions

The Floor Supervisor has a large amount of autonomy to shape the processes, procedures, and structure of the team.

The Floor Supervisor is expected to:

  • Evaluate current methods and personnel to deploy resources most effectively
  • Audit and assess team workloads and performance
  • Take a data-centered approach to create strong and efficient processes
  • Train and develop staff, including assisting with plans for new staff as well as identifying and developing training and cross training for current staff.
  • Effectively manage long-term departmental goals while keeping the day-to-day activities of assigned staff on track

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

The preferred candidate would be:

  • Adept at personnel supervision with a track record of successfully leading a team
  • An independent learner and researcher when developing solutions
  • Highly organized with a keen sense for managing projects and meeting deadlines

Qualifications

  • Previous supervisory or management experience, a minimum of 2 years' experience
  • Working knowledge of the procedures and processes of the legal system would be preferred, however, those looking to transition to the legal field are encouraged to apply.

Compensation

Annual salary will be commensurate with experience. Compensation will be reviewed within 6 months of hire and will be reviewed annually thereafter, to ensure it remains competitive with the market and aligned with the responsibilities of the role. Bonus opportunities will also be reviewed.

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
