Moore & Van Allen PLLC, a dynamic and fast-growing full-service law firm of more than 400 attorneys and professionals, is seeking an experienced Legal Practice Assistant to join its Charleston, SC office. This full-time position provides administrative support to attorneys on our Commercial Real Estate team.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsibilities will include time entry, billing, preparing correspondence with clients, external counsel, courts and court administration, proofreading, formatting and preparing multi-state and federal legal filings, filing legal documents (including e-filing), docket management, making travel arrangements, assisting with scheduling/calendar, assisting with discovery including document production, etc. This position will also assist our Trusts & Estates team with tasks including drafting and/or preparing powers of attorney, deeds, probate filings and other documents as requested.
Qualifications & Experience:
The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic self-starter with excellent MS Office, typing, proofreading and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize work. Must be able to handle deadlines and maintain a high level of confidentiality. Must have a professional demeanor in order to work well with all levels of staff attorneys and our clients. Also must have the ability and willingness to work well under pressure and at times more than the standard work schedule in order to accomplish responsibilities of the position. A High school diploma or the equivalent required; 4 year degree preferred, with at least 1-2 years of legal experience. Experience working in commercial real estate and/or trusts & estates practice area(s) a plus.
Physical Requirements:
