Duties
- Provide comprehensive administrative support including managing calendars, scheduling appointments, and coordinating meetings.
- Conduct thorough legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research tools to assist in case preparation and strategy development.
- Draft, review, and proofread legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, memoranda, and correspondence with precision and clarity.
- Manage legal case files and document management systems like iManage and PCLaw to ensure accurate organization and easy retrieval of case materials.
- Perform detailed document review and data entry for litigation cases, estate planning files, or transactional work while maintaining strict confidentiality.
- Assist with client interviews and gather relevant information for case development; support attorneys in preparing for hearings or negotiations.
- Support project management efforts across multiple practice areas by tracking deadlines, maintaining schedules, and ensuring timely completion of tasks.
- Utilize phone etiquette skills to communicate professionally with clients, courts, vendors, and other stakeholders.
- Maintain organized filing systems—both physical and electronic—and ensure compliance with all legal administrative procedures.
Experience
- Paralegal experience or prior legal administrative experience in a fast-paced law office environment is required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of various practice areas and litigation procedures.
- Proficiency with legal research platforms such as Westlaw and LexisNexis.
- Familiarity with case management software like CLIO enhances efficiency in document handling and data organization.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent writing skills for drafting legal documents and correspondence with attention to detail; proofreading accuracy is critical.
- Experience with transcription services and document review processes is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of contracts management systems and data entry procedures supports seamless workflow operations.
Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
