JOB
This position is responsible for directing the day-to-day operations, programs and services of a public library in the Borough library system. Work is performed and duties are carried out in accordance with established policies, procedures, and Borough core values: Accountability, Customer Focus, Dedication, Integrity, Responsiveness and Teamwork.

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Serves as on-site facility manager for an assigned public library; coordinates library services and facility usage; negotiates contracts for library services, materials, and equipment; coordinates and oversees facility and grounds maintenance; responds to on-site facility emergencies. Hires, trains, assigns, directs, schedules, supervises, evaluates and disciplines library personnel. Manages the library collection; reads and evaluates materials for purchase; analyzes patron requests for purchases; selects and orders items; classifies and catalogs items; adds and deletes items from Online Computer Library Center (OCLC)and evaluates and weeds collections. Represents the library and the Borough at meetings with other libraries, boards, agencies, teachers, parents, community organizations, and with Borough officials; participates in Joint Library Catalog meetings; attends training and conferences. Coordinates with the Parks, Recreation and Library Services Manager in the development of annual budgets; directs and controls the expenditure of library funds, revenues received, and monitors all budgetary expenditures. Prepares, writes, monitors and implements grants and reports, including reports of statistical information; prepares all library correspondence; maintains files and records; oversees the preparation of daily, weekly and monthly system reports. Provides assistance to patrons in locating materials and in the use of library technology; assists patrons in the use of computerized databases. Researches reference inquiries; provides inter-library loan services. Oversees the development, implementation and publicity of library programs, including programs for children, youth and adults. Plans and participates in fundraising activities. Assists in the development and implementation of library policies and procedures. Procures, manages and coordinates the maintenance of computers and other electronic devices. Ensures compliance with occupational safety and health regulations applicable to area of responsibility, including but not limited to: proper facilitation of Bloodborne Pathogens Program; proper use and maintenance of personal protective equipment; Safety Data Sheet books, inspection reports, training records, and hazard documentation are maintained and up to date; preventive programs and corrective actions are properly implemented.
