Part-Time Library Assistant
Schedule:
Monday–Friday, 11:30 AM–7:00 PM
Some Saturdays, 9:30 AM–5:00 PM
15.5–23 hours per week, with additional hours available as needed
Job Summary
We are looking for a friendly, organized, and team-oriented Library Assistant to join our staff. In this role, you will be the face of the library — greeting patrons, answering questions, and providing exceptional service to community members of all ages. You will work closely with fellow library staff to ensure smooth daily operations and a positive experience for every visitor.
Responsibilities
- Greet and assist library patrons in a courteous and professional manner
- Provide excellent customer service at the front desk
- Support daily library operations including circulation, shelving, and record keeping
- Use computer systems and library databases to assist patrons and maintain accurate records
- Collaborate with team members on library programs, events, and projects
- Assist with children's programming and family services
- Perform internet research and general clerical duties as needed
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and internet research
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work as a cooperative and supportive member of a team
- Friendly, patient, and customer-focused attitude
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with library databases or cataloging systems
- Previous experience working with children or in a youth-serving environment

Pay: $9.50 per hour
