Greenwood Laboratory School is seeking a dedicated, collaborative, and student-centered educator to serve as a Part-Time Library Media Specialist and Yearbook Advisor beginning with the 2026–27 school year.

This position supports Greenwood’s mission of academic excellence, creativity, literacy, and student engagement through library services, instructional collaboration, and leadership of the school yearbook program.

The ideal candidate will foster a love of reading and learning, support information literacy and research skills, and help students create a high-quality yearbook that reflects the life and culture of the Greenwood community.

Description of Primary Duties
Primary Responsibilities
Library Media Specialist Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain an engaging and age-appropriate K–12 library collection
  • Support curriculum and literacy initiatives through collaboration with teachers
  • Teach information literacy, research, and digital citizenship skills
  • Teach elementary library classes (K–5)
  • Promote reading through library programming, displays, and events
  • Manage circulation, cataloging, and library organization
  • Support the integration of educational technology and media resources
  • Maintain a welcoming, organized, and student-centered library environment
Yearbook Advisor Responsibilities
  • Advise and supervise the student yearbook staff
  • Coordinate yearbook planning, photography, layout, editing, and publication timelines
  • Teach and support students in journalism, design, photography, and publication skills
  • Work with students and staff to document school events, activities, and traditions
  • Coordinate with yearbook vendors and oversee production deadlines
  • Promote student leadership, collaboration, and creativity within the yearbook program

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Library Science, Education, Journalism, Communications, or a related field required
  • Master’s degree and/or school librarian certification preferred
  • Experience working in a school or educational setting preferred
  • Experience with yearbook production, journalism, photography, or design preferred
  • Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and families
  • Familiarity with library systems, educational technology, and digital publishing tools
