Library Safety Officer

LIBRARY SAFETY OFFICER – The Central Arkansas Library System is seeking a full-time (40 hrs. per week) library safety officer at the Main Library. The work schedule will be: Tuesday – Saturday 3:00pm – 12:00am. The candidate should be outgoing, friendly, team-orientated, enjoy working with all ages and have a customer service-oriented approach to public safety while working in a diverse and inclusive environment. Daily duties include interacting with after-school crowds and enforcing the rules of conduct. Experience working with youth a plus. Essential duties include working closely with branch staff to solve challenges throughout the day and help diffuse various situations in a positive, courteous, and professional manner. Additional responsibilities include assisting patrons with information and assisting staff with public safety concerns. Must be able to stand, walk for extended periods of time, work indoors and outdoors. Some computer experience is required and must have reliable transportation. Spanish language skills a plus but not required. Pay starts at $17.11 (with a shift differential) and includes excellent benefits such as medical, dental, vision, company paid retirement, life insurance, paid time off, paid parental leave, and holiday pay.
