LID Life Cycle & Product Manager, North America

Job Summary

The Livestock Identification (LID) Product Manager is responsible for driving the strategic direction, execution, and commercial success of Datamars’ Livestock Identification product portfolio in North America. This role serves as a bridge between product strategy, marketing, sale, global product management, manufacturing and strategic projects, ensuring that LID products are effectively developed, positioned, launched, and grown across complex, multi-level distribution channels.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Own and manage the lifecycle of Livestock Identification (LID) products, including new product development, introductions, product enhancements, re-introductions, and end-of-life planning.
  • Lead and support strategic projects related to LID products.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for LID products, competitive offerings, and market trends within the livestock identification space.
  • Manage technical products, packaging, and regulatory requirements and improvements
  • Support growth opportunities within Datamars’ existing livestock markets that are commercially attainable and strategically aligned.
  • Partner closely with the Marketing and Sales teams to support the LID portfolio.
  • Maintain LID product price lists, product databases and SKU strategies
  • Develop and manage sales forecasts and business cases for the LID portfolio.
  • Engage with manufacturing and quality control teams regularly to ensure quality of products and timely delivery of products.
  • Provide product training, education, and sales enablement support for internal teams and external partners.
  • Act as a product spokesperson in internal meetings, customer presentations, and industry events as needed.
  • Collaborate as assigned and as needed with strategic and key accounts, including but not limited to:

o Purebred Associations

o Manufacturing and distribution partners

o State and government programs

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to gather customer feedback, support continuous improvement, and inform product roadmap decisions.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

  • Strong strategic and commercial acumen with the ability to balance long-term planning and hands-on execution.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong abilities to digest and understand technical information and manufacturing processes
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
  • Highly organized with strong project management skills. and ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
  • Customer-focused mindset with the ability to translate customer needs into product and commercial strategies.
  • Strong collaboration skills; able to influence cross-functionally without direct authority.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience using CRM, reporting, and analytics tools such as Salesforce, Power BI, Tableau, Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment with changing priorities.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Engineering, Dairy Science, Agricultural Business, Animal Science or a related technical field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in product management, marketing, strategic account management, or commercial roles within livestock, agriculture, animal health, or related industries.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and strategic projects.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting strategic accounts and multi-level distribution models preferred.
  • Experience with pricing strategy, SKU management, forecasting, and promotions preferred.


Working Environment

This position is executed remotely with travel. Position will work from 8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday; however, flexibility to work alternate days, including nights and weekends, according to business needs is required.


Physical Requirements

The position is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk; sit; bend; push/pull; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.

Travel

This position requires a variable amount of travel schedule, ranging from 10% up to approximately 40–50% of work time depending on business needs that require travel, to customer sites, trade shows, and industry events. International travel may be required.
