Light Testing Engineer

Test plan development:

Create detailed test plans outlining parameters for evaluating LED light fixtures including luminance distribution, color accuracy, flicker, and lifespan, considering relevant railway standards and regulations.

Test execution:

Conduct functional tests on LED lights in laboratory and field environments, including environmental stress tests like vibration, temperature extremes, and humidity exposure.

Data analysis:

Analyze test data to identify potential defects, performance inconsistencies, and areas for improvement, generating comprehensive test reports with findings and recommendations.

Troubleshooting:

Investigate and diagnose issues identified during testing, collaborating with design engineers to resolve technical problems and implement corrective actions.

Calibration and maintenance:

Maintain and calibrate testing equipment to ensure accurate data collection and compliance with standards.

Compliance verification:

Ensure LED lighting systems meet all applicable railway safety regulations and industry standards regarding electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), shock resistance, and fire safety.

Collaboration:

Work closely with electrical engineers, design teams, and project managers to identify testing needs, communicate test results, and contribute to product improvements.

Required skills and qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, electronics engineering, or a related field

Strong understanding of LED technology, including light characteristics, power management, and thermal management

Knowledge of railway signaling systems and relevant industry standards (e.g., IEC, EN)

Experience with electrical testing equipment (power analyzers, photometers, oscilloscopes)

Proficiency in data analysis and report writing

Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team
