Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented LIHTC Leasing Professional to join our team and drive the leasing process for our affordable housing community utilizing the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program. In this energetic role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for prospective residents, guiding them through the application process while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Your enthusiasm and customer service skills will help create positive experiences for residents and foster long-term relationships. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in affordable housing while developing your expertise in property management and leasing operations.

Duties

  • Greet prospective residents warmly, providing comprehensive information about available units, community amenities, and leasing procedures.
  • Manage the entire leasing cycle, including conducting tours, processing applications, verifying income and eligibility under LIHTC guidelines, and preparing lease agreements.
  • Utilize our property management software Yardi to accurately enter data, track applicant status, and maintain organized records.
  • Ensure all leasing activities adhere to Fair Housing regulations, Section 8 guidelines, and legal requirements related to landlord-tenant law.
  • Coordinate with property management teams to facilitate property maintenance requests, move-ins, and move-outs efficiently.
  • Conduct regular follow-ups with applicants to upsell available units or additional services that enhance resident satisfaction.
  • Maintain meticulous filing systems for lease documents, legal paperwork, and compliance records while managing data entry tasks with precision.
  • Handle conflict management professionally by addressing resident concerns promptly and effectively while upholding company policies.
  • Support administrative functions such as phone etiquette, filing, and general office experience to ensure smooth daily operations.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of LIHTC programs, Fair Housing regulations, Section 8 housing policies, and landlord-tenant law.
  • Proficiency in our property management software including Yardi and Rent Cafe.
  • Excellent customer service skills with a friendly demeanor and effective communication abilities.
  • Experience in property leasing, real estate administrative tasks, and legal contract preparation.
  • Ability to negotiate lease terms confidently while maintaining compliance with all legal standards.
  • Skilled in conflict management techniques to resolve resident issues amicably.
  • Familiarity with data entry accuracy, filing procedures, and office etiquette to support administrative efficiency.
  • Demonstrated ability to upsell units or services through persuasive sales techniques while respecting resident needs.
