Summary

The Litigation Attorney manages a personal injury litigation caseload from filing through resolution, ensuring high-quality legal work, timely case progression, and strong client advocacy. This role involves drafting and filing pleadings, participating in hearings and mediations, collaborating with the litigation team, and supporting trial preparation and execution.

Duties and Responsibilities

Case Management & Legal Drafting

● Manage a personal injury litigation caseload from filing through resolution.

● Draft, file, and manage pleadings, motions, and discovery requests/responses.

● Conduct legal research and prepare persuasive filings in compliance with court rules.

Client Representation & Advocacy

● Represent clients in hearings, depositions, mediations, and settlement negotiations.

● Prepare clients for litigation events, ensuring they understand legal procedures and expectations.

● Maintain regular, professional communication to keep clients informed and supported.

Trial Preparation & Team Collaboration

● Assist in trial preparation, including exhibits, witness coordination, and legal briefs.

● Participate in trial-related activities as appropriate.

.● Collaborate with legal staff, experts, and senior attorneys to meet deadlines and support litigation strategy.

Documentation & Compliance

● Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the case management system.

● Ensure all legal work adheres to procedural rules, ethical standards, and firm policies.

Metrics for Success

● Case Timeliness: 95%+ of litigation milestones met within court and internal deadlines.

● Work Quality: 98%+ of pleadings and motions filed without required revisions for compliance issues.

● Client Communication: 100% of client calls/emails returned within 24 hours.

● Advocacy Outcomes: Positive settlement or trial results aligned with case strategy.

● Collaboration: Effective coordination with litigation team, demonstrated by minimal missed deadlines or task errors.

Qualifications

● Proven experience managing personal injury litigation cases from filing through resolution.

● Strong legal research, writing, and drafting skills.

● Effective client communication and advocacy abilities.

● Ability to work collaboratively within a litigation team.

● Proficiency with case management software and legal research tools.

● Strong computer skills, including:

○ Case management systems

○ Document drafting and management software

○ Legal research platforms

Educational Qualifications

● Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

● Active license to practice law in the state of Florida.

● Membership in good standing with the state bar.

● Compliance with Continuing Legal Education (CLE) requirements per state regulations.

Physical Requirements

● Ability to remain seated for extended periods during legal drafting, research, and court preparation.

● Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, document review, and electronic filing.

● Must be able to travel to court, depositions, and client meetings as required.

● Ability to lift and transport case files, exhibits, and trial materials up to 20 pounds.

● Clear verbal communication for client meetings, court appearances, and team collaboration.

Pay: $110,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
