Loan Officer

Reports To: AVP of Lending

Purpose: Originate complete loan applications, verify income, protect members with credit insurance, GAP, & extended warranties, help members save money by refinancing debt held elsewhere, & submit complete title application packets to the credit union’s title clerk.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Interview loan applicants & collect credit documents.

2. Input loan applications directly into Loan Origination System & route them to underwriters for approval.

3. Input loan-by-phones & quick apps submitted via DocuSign Webforms into Loan Origination System.

4. Obtain credit explanations from applicants.

5. Save credit & collateral documentation to the Loans network drive for underwriters to view.

6. Persuade members to refinance their existing debt held elsewhere with the credit union.

7. Sell debt protection, GAP waivers, & extended warranties.

8. Set up direct deposit & loan auto transfers.

9. Submit all items listed on Title Work Checklist to title clerk daily.

10. DocuSign all items on Audit Checklist to AVP of Lending daily.

11. Research & investigate member concerns & offer solutions.

12. Make corrections, reversals & other adjustments on loans.

Standards & Expectations:

1. Must maintain current knowledge of all anti-money laundering & OFAC regulations.

2. Must comply with all BSA & OFAC testing requirements.

3. Must maintain current knowledge of all Fair Lending, Reg. Z, & FCRA regulations.

4. Must maintain current knowledge of all credit union policies, procedures, & products.

5. Must demonstrate professionalism with members & co-workers at all times.

6. Must maintain the confidentiality of member information.

7. Must return all phone calls & messages daily.

8. Must work Saturday schedule as assigned.

9. Must perform other duties as assigned.

Basic Requirements:

Education: High school graduate or equivalent.

Skills: Lending skills.

Desirable Traits: Must be productive, dependable, accurate, thorough, friendly, knowledgeable, & professional. Must work well with others. Must be able to lift 25 pounds.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $41,400.00 - $51,800.00 per year
