Project Overview

Bechtel has been involved for over 80 years in complex airport and infrastructure projects. In the GCC, we have played significant roles on major international airports. We are now seeking a candidate with aviation or related transportation project experience to provide project management consultancy services for a major infrastructure project in Riyadh.

Job Summary

In this role, the Logistics Manager will develop and oversee project construction site logistics and traffic management activities. Responsibilities include coordinating and integrating logistics plans, issuing updated plans, analyzing local and regional conditions, proactively identifying solutions for logistical challenges, and mitigating risks to minimize commercial impacts.

Major Responsibilities

• Supervise a team of Site Logistics Engineers and coordinators.
• Oversee planning and compliance monitoring of logistics operations for assigned projects, including movement of construction materials, fuel, equipment, personnel, and waste.
• Collaborate with PMC teams and across geographic regions to optimize logistics service delivery and facility utilization.
• Interpret contract and project requirements related to logistics, update RFPs and Employer Requirements.
• Develop comprehensive project execution strategies for construction indirects and logistics, including job hour and craft requirements, demand for temporary water and power, truck movements, and more.
• Prepare Scope of Work, budgets, contract packages, and other commercial documentation for implementing logistics provisions.
• Formulate plans for access gate locations, haul roads, and personnel movement across contracts.
• Manage configuration of logistics facilities and services, identify and address areas requiring enhancement.
• Support the Project Management Team in achieving construction delivery and safety, health, and environmental/sustainability targets.
• Provide detailed reports and present logistics planning updates to management, highlighting existing and evolving requirements.
• Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills to foster a positive working environment among clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Consistently uphold industry leading safety standards and maintain a safe working environment.
• Exhibit effective communication skills essential for motivating team members and delivering plans clearly.
• Demonstrate exceptional problem solving capabilities.

Education and Experience Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience, or 14-17 years of relevant work experience in a similar logistics planning and management role, preferably with Contractor or PMC experience.

Required Knowledge and Skills

• Experience with construction and project logistics on large urban infrastructure or civil engineering projects.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to maintain a positive work environment between Client, Contractors, and stakeholders.
• Good oral and written communication skills in English.
• Preferred experience working and living in KSA/Middle East/GCC, and in camp locations.
