Sight & Sound is an organization comprised of people with diverse talents coming together as one in Christ to tell His story through who we are and what we do. We foster a culture of love for God and love for others, trust and teamwork, and a collaborative environment in which we get to do our best work every day.

The Logistics & Storage Lead plans and oversees the year-round movement of show assets for Sight & Sound’s Lancaster theater, leading a small team in storage, shipping, receiving, and changeover operations. This role estimates shipping needs, sets trucking plans, and ensures assets are precisely staged for annual changeovers and theater-wide events, coordinating with external vendors and the I&L team to maintain production flow across premiere and returning shows.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead a select team during the annual changeover, directing the strike of outgoing shows from stage into the warehouse and the initial phase of incoming show installation, positioning assets for rigging, shop, automation, and lighting teams to finalize.
  • Coordinate pre-changeover logistics—organizing assets needing moved to stage, securing warehouse space for outgoing sets, and planning the install sequence—to ensure a smooth strike night and subsequent changeover.
  • Provide logistical details (e.g., asset timelines, space needs) to the Assistant Technical Director for an accurate stage calendar, supporting changeover and year-round planning.
  • Estimate the size of shows to be shipped or received annually, determine weekly truck volume needed to meet theater operation timelines, and provide plans to logistics vendors and the I&L Operations Specialist for scheduling and manifesting.
  • Supervise the I&L team in breaking down, assembling, and managing show assets to: keep in long-term storage both on and off theater property; ship outbound sets and components to Branson theater as scheduled; receive incoming sets and components for storage or staging; prepare returning show assets for upcoming stage run.
  • Lead the I&L team as a rapid-response force, transporting materials (e.g., tables, chairs) as needed to support corporate and departmental events.
  • Maintain on and off-site Lancaster storage spaces, keeping show set pieces and resources organized, accessible, and rotated for availability according to the established show-run schedule.
  • Act as the primary point of contact between logistics vendors and E&L Manager to align logistics operations with all production departments’ needs.

Prerequisites:

  • Strong leadership and communication skills to direct a fast-paced team across changeover and year-round tasks.
  • Excellent ability to plan asset movement, storage, and staging under tight deadlines and shifting priorities.
  • Passion for team collaboration and supporting theater-wide operations.
  • Flexibility to pivot between changeover intensity and ongoing logistics/event demands.
  • Basic proficiency with theater assets, tools, and support equipment (e.g., forklifts, man-lifts)—training available as needed.
  • Familiarity with MS Office for communication and calendar input; willingness to adapt to additional tools.

In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
