Maintenance Engineer

Rolling Road Golf Club is now accepting resumes for an energetic team member to fill the position of Maintenance Engineer. As an integral part of the staff, we look for this individual to be a self-starter in performing repairs and upgrades to the Club facilities. This is a hands on position requiring a significant working knowledge and skill in performing electrical, plumbing and carpentry tasks in an efficient manner as well as being conscientious of cost. The successful individual should also possess the ability to coordinate projects performed by outside contractors including collecting bids, checking references, overseeing work to maintain timelines and quality.

This is a full time (32-40 hrs), hourly position, mostly Monday-Friday, but could be called upon in special or emergency situations as needed.

JOB DESCRIPTION

I. Position

Maintenance Engineer

II. Job Knowledge, Core Competencies and Expectations

· Working knowledge of carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting, refrigeration and HVAC

· General understanding of engineering principles specifically with regard to structural issues

· General computer skills with regard to research for repair and maintenance supplies and tasks

· Ability to manage outside contractors, when required, to make sure work is completed both timely and correctly

· Manages contractor lists and relationships for special projects and advice related to club needs

· Attains Pool Manager Certification and other certifications as deemed pertinent by the General Manager

III. Job Summary

Carry out, coordinate or supervise all general club facility repairs and general maintenance needed for equipment, building structures, furniture or other club assets in order to maintain the property in optimal condition and appearance.

IV. Job Tasks (Duties)

· Performs and/or coordinates the servicing and repairing of systems for lighting, heating, ventilating, fire, drainage, plumbing, electrical, painting and related maintenance activities

· Monitors all work done by outside contractors and communicates status of projects to General Manager

· Maintains accurate maintenance and repair records of equipment and machinery

· Schedules and monitors inspections for elevator and sprinkler systems

· Visually inspects public spaces and back of the house areas to replace light bulbs, lamps, switches etc.

· Coordinates/shares maintenance of parking lots, swimming pool and other common areas with grounds staff

· Ensures that all buildings maintenance, repair and specialty cleaning activities are identified, scheduled and completed

· Keeps the workshop area safe, organized and clean

· Responds to emergencies as needed at any time

· Collects maintenance work orders from department heads and prioritizes as needed

· Familiarizes self with pool piping and pump functioning so as to troubleshoot and repair if possible

· Winterize and prepare for season pool bath house and snack bar

· Assists with preparation of special functions, parties, tournaments, etc., by installing decorations and construction pieces as needed

· Helps to develop a resource management plan that outlines short term and long term requirement for repair and maintenance, capital replacement and capital requirements

· Orders and /or collects parts for repair work

· Works in conjunction with housekeeping staff to coordinate and assist in special cleaning tasks and clean up following projects

· Schedules periodic carpet, floor, ventilation and window cleaning

V. Physical Requirements and Work Environment

·Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions

·Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals

·Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; extreme cold; extreme heat;

·Risk of electrical shock; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment may be loud

·Able to meet and perform the physical requirements and to work effectively in an environment which is typical of this

·position

·Frequent lifting, bending, climbing, stooping and pulling

·Frequent repetitive motions

·Continuous standing and walking

·Ability to lift over 50lbs

V. Reports to

General Manager

As with any position within a private club staff is occasionally called upon to perform duties outside their normal scope of responsibility. When requested, these tasks should be performed enthusiastically and with zeal to help the club team accomplish the goal of providing the best product for our members and their guests.

Pay Frequency:

  • Bi weekly or Twice monthly

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
