Job Overview: The Manager/Team Lead, Field Application Engineer (FAE), will oversee a team of FAEs responsible for the successful integration, troubleshooting, and optimization of complex robotic systems for customers. This role combines technical expertise in robotics with project management experience, providing leadership in implementing robotic solutions that meet customer needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership & Management: Lead and manage a team of Field Application Engineers (FAEs), providing guidance, mentorship, and support.
  • Project Management: Oversee the implementation of complex robotic systems for customers, ensuring timely and successful project delivery.
  • Robotics Integration & Troubleshooting: Integration is at the systems and scheduling level, not technical.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Act as the primary point of contact for customer-facing activities, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Technical Expertise & Support: Provide technical support and training to the team and customers.
  • Team Development & Training: Develop the skills and capabilities of the FAE team by providing ongoing training, coaching, and professional development.
  • Collaboration with Internal Teams: Work closely with product management, systems engineering, sales, and marketing teams to ensure the successful deployment of robotic systems and to address any customer concerns or technical issues.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Ensure the FAE team maintains detailed records of projects, customer interactions, troubleshooting activities, and system configurations.
  • Process Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement within the FAE team and across the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Education: A degree in Robotics, Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • Project Management: Experience in managing projects involving the implementation of complex robotic systems.
    • Leadership: Proven experience leading and managing a team of technical professionals.
    • Robotics Expertise: Strong technical background in robotics, including hands-on experience with robotic arms, sensors, actuators, and control systems.
    • Customer-Facing Experience: Extensive experience working with customers, providing technical guidance, training, and support during the lifecycle of robotic systems.
  • Project Management Skills: Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage timelines, resources, and project scope.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving & Troubleshooting: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to robotics systems, often under pressure.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams, including systems engineers, product management, and sales/marketing teams to deliver customer-centric solutions.
  • Customer-Focused: Demonstrated ability to understand and address customer needs, providing solutions that align with their technical and business requirements.

Work Environment: This role involves both office-based work and on-site customer-facing activities. Travel to customer sites may be required.
