Role Overview
The Manager - PLM Operations is responsible for managing, developing, and expanding a high-performing team dedicated to PLM operations support. This leader will create and execute strategies to optimize PLM processes and systems, ensuring excellent service delivery to a global user base. The role requires close collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders, driving continuous improvement and supporting business objectives through effective PLM operations.
Key Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership & Development
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of PLM Operations Support specialists.
  • Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Set clear performance goals, conduct regular reviews, and support professional development.
  • Strategy & Execution
  • Develop and implement PLM operations strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Drive process improvements, automation, and standardization across PLM support functions.
  • Monitor and report on KPIs, ensuring operational effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Global Collaboration & Support
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for global PLM users, ensuring their needs are met.
  • Coordinate support activities across regions, managing priorities and resource allocation.
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing and adoption of best practices within the global user community.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
  • Partner with IT, Engineering, Manufacturing, and other business units to deliver integrated PLM solutions.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, translating technical requirements into business outcomes.
  • Change Management
  • Lead change initiatives related to PLM systems, processes, and tools.
  • Support user training and adoption of new functionalities or upgrades.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 7+ years’ experience in PLM operations, support, or related areas.
  • 3+ years’ experience in team leadership or people management.
  • Proven track record in developing and executing operational strategies.
Required Skills
  • Familiarity with one or more major PLM platforms (e.g., Siemens Teamcenter, PTC Windchill, Dassault ENOVIA, Dassault 3DX).
  • Working familiarity with CAD platforms (such as CATIA, NX, Creo, SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
  • Knowledge of engineering design processes, including systems engineering and product lifecycle management.
  • Excellent leadership, coaching, and team-building abilities.
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills.
  • Effective communicator with experience supporting global teams.
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Project management and change management expertise.
Preferred Competencies
  • Experience with Dassault 3DX platform strongly preferred.
  • CM2 certification preferred.
  • Experience working in a multinational/multicultural environment.
  • Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement certifications.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance in engineering/manufacturing industries.
