Bolla is a premier Wholesale and Retail Motor Fuel (MF) supplier in Metro New York and New Jersey areas. Through our Bolla Transport division the company hauls Motor Fuel in both New York and New Jersey areas. We supply MF to our 200+ locations as well as an additional 100 Wholesale Dealers. It also constructs Ultra-Modern and upscale Gas Stations with C-Stores.

Role Summary
The Wholesale Operations Manager is responsible for leading and managing the end-to-end wholesale fuel operations using the PDI Enterprise (PDI Technologies) ERP system. This role encompasses financial management (AR, AP, GL), inventory control, contract negotiation with dealers and suppliers, and logistics oversight. The ideal candidate will combine deep accounting know-how, software expertise, and operational leadership to ensure smooth, efficient, and profitable wholesale fuel operations.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Operations & Logistics
- Manage end-to-end wholesale order flow: order generation, processing, inventory allocation, and dispatch.
- Coordinate with logistics / 3PL partners and internal teams for distribution, delivery, and fleet / carrier operations.
- Develop, implement, and improve SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) for wholesale operations, ensuring system-driven processes via PDI.
- Track and report on operational KPIs (e.g., order fill rate, on-time delivery, inventory turnover) using PDI reporting modules.
2. PDI (ERP) System Management & Accounting
- Take ownership of the PDI Enterprise system (or the ERP instance used) for wholesale operations, ensuring correct configuration, usage, and optimization.
- Manage PDI modules: general ledger, accounts receivable (AR), accounts payable (AP), inventory, order management, and logistics. PDI’s wholesale fuel software includes GL, AR, AP, order processing, inventory, and vendor/customer contract management.
- Oversee the accounting processes in PDI: make sure transactions (orders, invoices, deliveries) are accurately captured, and ensure the system’s financial sub-ledgers reconcile with the main GL.
- Handle high-volume, high-value wholesale transactions within PDI, ensuring correct financial posting.
- Reconcile AR (dealers / wholesale customers) and AP (suppliers, logistics) inside PDI on a regular basis.
- Draw and prepare periodic financial reports, performance dashboards, and analytics using PDI reporting tools / data warehouse. Real-time reporting is a strength of PDI’s platform.
- Maintain and reconcile financial sub-ledgers (AR, AP) in PDI to the general ledger. PDI supports high-volume fuel accounting.
4. Financial Planning & Analysis
- Forecast wholesale fuel business revenue, cash flow, inventory costs, and working capital needs using data from PDI.
- Conduct variance analysis (budget vs actual) on key financial metrics (sales, cost of goods sold, inventory, margins).
- Prepare management reports / dashboards for senior leadership, presenting operational and financial insights.
5. Stakeholder & Team Management
- Lead a team comprising PDI operations analysts, accounting analysts, logistics coordinators, etc.
- Work cross-functionally with Sales, Procurement, Finance, IT, and Logistics to ensure alignment and smooth execution.
- Facilitate training, onboarding, and change management for PDI users across the organization.
- Act as the business liaison with PDI Technologies (or vendor) for system updates, support, and enhancements.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: At least 5 years in wholesale operations, accounting, ERP management, or operations in the petroleum / fuel distribution business.
- ERP Expertise: Hands-on experience with PDI Enterprise (or similar petroleum wholesale ERP).
- Accounting Knowledge: Strong understanding of GL, AP & AR accounting; experience in reconciling sub-ledgers; handling high-volume, high-value transactions.
- Fuel / Petroleum Knowledge: Familiarity with wholesale fuel business, fuel taxes, terminal operations / inventory.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to derive insights from operational and financial data; build reports and dashboards.
- Excel Skills: Advanced Excel (pivot tables, formulas, scenario planning) to complement ERP data.
- Contract / Commercial Skills: Good at negotiating and managing supplier / customer / dealer contracts in B2B wholesale settings.
- Leadership Skills: Managing small teams, driving process improvements, change management for software adoption.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal and cross-functional communication skills.
- Education: Bachelor’s in commerce / finance / business / Operations; professional accounting qualification (CA / CPA / equivalent) is a plus.
Preferred / Desirable
- Prior experience in petroleum wholesale companies / fuel distribution networks.
- Knowledge of fuel pricing strategy and optimization — PDI has an AI-driven wholesale fuel pricing solution.
- Experience in logistics and using cloud-based logistics systems for fuel / haulers (PDI also offers a logistics-cloud solution).
- Familiarity with fuel asset management (tanks, terminals) or with tank-monitoring systems (e.g., integration with Kii tank management, which PDI supports).
- Exposure to business intelligence / data warehousing or advanced reporting tools.
