Key responsibilities
- Production and process optimization: Oversee daily manufacturing activities, streamline workflows, and identify and resolve bottlenecks to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Financial management: Manage operational budgets, control costs, and negotiate contracts with vendors to ensure financial goals are met.
- Compliance and quality: Ensure operations comply with all relevant regulations, company policies, and health and safety standards. Coordinate with quality control teams to maintain product standards.
- Supply chain and inventory: Work with procurement and store teams to ensure the timely availability of raw materials. Maintain accurate stock records and minimize waste.
- Cross-functional coordination: Collaborate with departments like logistics, procurement, and human resources to ensure smooth, cohesive operations.
- Data analysis and reporting: Analyze operational data and metrics to provide actionable insights for decision-making. Prepare regular reports on production, manpower, and other key performance indicators (KPIs).
Required skills and qualifications
- Education: A bachelor's degree or diploma in Operations, Production, or Industrial Engineering is often preferred, but a degree in any field may be sufficient for some roles.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in manufacturing setting and operations.
- Technical skills: Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP systems, and other production tracking software is essential.
- Soft skills: Strong leadership, problem-solving, communication, and time management skills are crucial for success.
