Operations Officer


Job Purpose:


The Operations Officer is responsible for supporting the daily operational activities of the Marine Department. This includes ensuring that all company vessels are properly registered, certified, and compliant with national maritime regulations. The role also involves preparing regular operational reports, monitoring vessel performance, and assisting in coordination between the office and vessels to ensure smooth, safe, and efficient operations.


Job Responsibilities:


Vessel Registration & Certification

  • Handle all documentation and coordination related to vessel registration, renewals, and certificate updates with GR ‘TGA’ and classification societies.
  • Maintain a comprehensive database of vessel certificates, ensuring timely renewal before expiry.

Operational Reporting & Statistics

  • Prepare and submit monthly operation reports summarizing vessel activities, performance metrics, incidents, and utilization rates.
  • Compile and analyze operational statistics such as fuel consumption, running hours, and voyage data for management review.
  • Maintain organized electronic and physical records for all reports.

Administrative & Coordination Duties

  • Support the Management in the daily vessels report and fleet status.
  • Prepare and issue internal operational reports , circulars, or instructions as required.
  • Monitor vessel readiness, crew documentation status, and ensure compliance with company procedures.
  • Undertake any other related duties, reports, or administrative tasks as assigned by the management.


Job Requirements:


  • Minimum 2–4 years of experience in maritime operations, port administration, or fleet management.
  • Knowledge of flag-state regulations, classification societies, and vessel documentation procedures.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiar with vessel tracking/reporting systems.
  • Understanding of maritime safety and compliance standards (ISM, MARPOL, SOLAS).
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Procurement and budget management experience
  • Fluent in English; additional languages an advantage
