Overview
Vindeket is seeking a part-time Market and Participant Manager. This position is being filled in order to maintain our current Market hours, sustain our non-profit partner program, and enable our Operations Manager to engage more fully with our food reclamation services.
The Market and Participant Manager (M&P) oversees day to day operations. This includes managing Market days, relationships with non-profit food pick-up partners, data collection, and general facility maintenance. Reports to the Executive Director and collaborates with the Operations Manager.
- Part-time employee submits timesheets to the Executive Director
- 20-25 hours per week as needed and opportunity to potentially go full-time
- Work week: Sunday through Thursday
- Hourly rate $28/hr
- Benefits: Cell Phone Stipend: $50 monthly
Time Allocation Summary
Market Operatons- 70%
Learn and facilitate all duties as instructed by the Executive Director and operate independently without supervision. These duties include but are not limited to:
- Responsible for organizing Vindeket service participants and overseeing sign-ups for all services and providing assistance to participants as needed, according to the training, Vindeket Community Guidebook, and the shopping rules.
- Collaborate with the Executive Director to facilitate onboarding and training of new participants
- Collaborate with Day of Lead (service participant) to ensure all participants are prepared and knowledgeable of their duties before, during, and after Market hours as needed; fill in operational gaps as needed
- Responsible for following shop opening/closing procedures as needed

- Accountable for maintaining non-profit partner relationships to regularly establish pickup times for distribution of goods.
- Responsible for facilitating safe and efficient resource pickups with non-profit partners throughout the week.
- 20%
- Checks and responds to all forms of communication: Phone, Text, Email, GroupMe, and Google Voice.
- Entering in Market, service participant/participant, miscellaneous and shift notes data into the drive.
- Collaborate with Executive Director/Operations Manager on Facility maintenance: changing filters, cleaning, organizing, etc.
- Reviewing and updating SOPs, service participant role descriptions, training procedures, and other logistical documents.
- Implement change management and handle potentially emotional conversations with participants to uphold community guidelines.
- Financial responsibility: Assist the Executive Director in budget planning, securing, and spending.
Education
- A bachelor's degree in business management, non-profit management, sustainability, logistics, or a related field - preferred
- Equivalent experience of 3 years will be considered in lieu of degree.
Experience
- 3 years of experience in management, operations, or a similar role, with some of this experience preferably in the nonprofit sector
- 3 years of experience supervising staff, interns, and/or volunteers
- 2 years of experience in strategic planning and financial management including budgeting - preferred
- 2 years experience with project management, implementing projects, and managing multiple priorities - preferred
