Marketing Communications Specialist

JOB DESCRIPTION/DUTIES:

• Client & Program Support
• Partner with program managers to develop communication plans, outreach materials, and stakeholder engagement strategies that align with client goals.
• Create compelling content (presentations, case studies, newsletters, and success stories) to highlight program results and impact.
• Collaborate with government communications staff to execute programs.
• Organize events (workshops, symposia, meetings) to advance client goals.
• Organizational Marketing & Growth
• Strengthen brand presence across web, social media, and traditional channels.
• Draft and manage press releases, feature stories, social media, and media relations to elevate company profile in defense innovation and technology ecosystems.
• Contribute to business development activities, including proposal writing, capability statements, and marketing collateral.

POSITION LOCATION:

• Job is based in Aberdeen, Maryland
• This is a hybrid position – time divided between office, remote, and/or client site. Some travel within the U.S. will be required.

EXPERIENCE:

• 5-10 years of professional experience in marketing or communications, preferably in the defense, government, or technology sectors.
• Strong ability with, writing, editing, and storytelling skills with an ability to translate technical material into accessible language.
• Experience with Technical Writing to clarify about defense technologies.
• Experience managing digital content, websites, and social media for professional organizations.
• Familiarity with federal agencies, DoD programs, or government contracting is strongly preferred.
• Proficiency with marketing tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Mailchimp, WordPress, Hootsuite or similar).

EDUCATION:

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing/PR, journalism, political science, or a related field required.

CERTIFICATION(S):

• No formal certifications required

CLEARANCE LEVEL:

• Ability to obtain Secret clearance

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be U.S. Citizen

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
