Position Overview

The Bond Between is seeking a highly skilled, full-time Marketing Manager to lead the execution of our organization’s marketing strategy and drive brand visibility, engagement, and supporter growth. This position plays a pivotal role in bringing our mission to life across all marketing channels, ensuring consistent messaging, strong storytelling, and effective campaign implementation.

The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker who can also execute flawlessly someone who thrives in a fast-paced nonprofit environment, excels at project management, and is passionate about animal welfare.

Key Responsibilities

Marketing Strategy & Planning

● Develop and manage the annual marketing calendar, including campaigns, events,

fundraising initiatives, advocacy moments, and partner promotions.

● Translate strategic direction from the VP of Marketing & Development into actionable

marketing plans.

● Ensure all campaigns and communications uphold The Bond Between’s brand identity,

voice, and values.

Team Leadership & Collaboration

● Provide leadership, direction, and support to the marketing team: Social Media Manager,

Digital Marketing Coordinator, Merchandise Coordinator, Website Administrator, Graphic

Designer, and Marketing volunteers.

● Manage workload distribution, deadlines, workflows, and performance expectations.

● Collaborate closely with Development, Rescue Operations, and Community Engagement

teams to align marketing with organizational goals.

Campaign Execution

● Oversee content and messaging across digital platforms including social media, email,

website, PR/earned media, and paid media.

● Guide creation of compelling storytelling that highlights our rescue work, fosters

community engagement, and drives donations.

● Ensure coordinated execution of campaigns across all channels, maintaining consistency in messaging and timing.

● Partner with the Development team to support fundraising campaigns (e.g., Give to the Max Day, year-end giving, transport sponsorships, appeals).

Brand, Communications & Content

● Maintain and reinforce brand guidelines across all organizational communications.

● Approve major content pieces including social media campaigns, website updates, email

marketing content, and paid advertising.

● Creation of press materials, event promotions, and community engagement initiatives.

● Monitor trends in digital media, nonprofit marketing, and animal welfare to inform content and strategy.

Website, Email, and Digital Oversight

● Oversee website to ensure content, SEO, and user experience remain optimized and up to

date.

● Oversee email marketing and calendar execution in collaboration with the Digital

Marketing Coordinator.

● Review performance analytics and provide insights for continuous improvement across

platforms.

Partnerships, Events & Merchandise

● Support marketing needs for fundraising events, adoption events, and community

activations.

● Collaborate across departments to promote partner initiatives, corporate sponsorships, and co-branded campaigns.

● Oversee coordination of merchandise launches, promotions, and e-commerce updates.

Analytics & Reporting

● Regularly review metrics across social media, email, website, and paid advertising.

● Track marketing performance against department goals and identify areas for

improvement.

● Provide monthly reporting to the VP of Marketing & Development.

Required Qualifications

● Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Business, or a related

field.

● 3–5 years of professional marketing experience (nonprofit experience preferred).

● 1+ years of team leadership or management experience.

● Demonstrated success planning and executing multi-channel marketing campaigns.

● Strong project management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.

● Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling abilities.

● Strong understanding of digital marketing best practices including SEO, social media, email marketing, and analytics.

● Proficiency with Google Workspace, Meta/Instagram tools, website CMS platforms, and

email marketing systems.

Desired Qualifications

● Experience working in an animal welfare or nonprofit environment.

● Familiarity with marketing for fundraising campaigns.

● Comfort being on-site with animals for content capture.

● Creative thinking and a passion for mission-driven storytelling.
