• Profound knowledge and familiarity with relevant tools, masonry techniques, and equipment
• Adequate skill and experience in the construction, alteration, repair, and maintenance of masonry structures and surfaces
• Physical stamina, as a mason worker must keep a steady pace while setting bricks, since constant lifting can be tiring
• Physical strength which enables him to lift heavy objects, as a mason worker is expected to be strong enough to lift more than 50 pounds
• Good mathematical and problem-solving skills which enable him/her to identify, analyze and solve problems or any arising issues
• Dexterity and precision, which enables a mason worker to lay bricks, stones, and other materials effectively, and place them with precision
