Mastercam/Design Engineer

Job Summary

The Mastercam/Design Engineer will be responsible for CNC programming, machining process planning, and developing machining models from casting drawings. The role requires strong knowledge of Mastercam software, machining operations, CNC tooling, and foundry-related dimensional considerations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop CNC machining programs using Mastercam for milling & turning operations.
• Prepare machining models considering casting allowances, machining stock, draft angles, and shrinkage factors.
• Review and interpret 2D/3D customer drawings & GD&T requirements.
• Perform CAM simulation to validate program accuracy and toolpath optimization.
• Design fixtures, jigs, and tooling required for machining operations.
• Create detailed machining process sheets and setup instructions.
• Optimize toolpath, feeds & speeds to reduce machining cycle time.
• Collaborate with the machining shop to ensure smooth program implementation.
• Address machining issues and modify programs as required for quality improvement.
• Work closely with foundry/casting team to ensure dimensional feasibility and machining ease.
• Maintain program database and revision control according to internal standards.

Skills & Technical Requirements

• Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 2–4 years of experience in CNC Programming / CAM Design.
• Strong working knowledge of Mastercam (mandatory).
• Understanding of casting processes (sand casting, machining allowances, datum selection).
• Hands-on knowledge of CNC machining, tooling & fixture design.
• Experience with GD&T and tolerance stack-ups.
• Proficient in 3D CAD software like SolidWorks / Creo / UG NX (any)
• Problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills (machining accuracy & quality issues).
• Good communication and coordination ability with internal teams.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
