About the Role
As a Material Handler at Zekelman Industries, Picoma division, located in Cambridge, OH, you will play a key role in supporting safe, accurate, and efficient material movement throughout the facility. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys hands-on work, thrives in a fast-paced production environment, and is committed to maintaining safety, quality, and operational flow.

What You’ll Do

• Move freight, stock, and materials to and from storage or production areas using forklifts or other material-handling equipment.

• Identify and sort cargo before completing loading and unloading tasks.

• Read work orders or follow oral instructions from the Lead Material Handler to complete daily assignments.

• Record quantities of materials moved using daily production sheets or work tickets.

• Maintain equipment storage areas to ensure inventory protection and organization.

• Perform general housekeeping in production areas to support a clean and safe environment.

• Ensure shelves and production stations remain stocked with necessary materials.

• Return extra materials or supplies that are no longer needed to designated storage areas.

• Follow all established safety procedures during handling and movement of materials.

• Provide regular, full-time on-site attendance according to the posted schedule.

• Support special projects as assigned to assist plant operations.

Who You Are

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training preferred.

• 1+ years of related experience in material handling, warehousing, or manufacturing.

• Forklift certification preferred.

• Ability to become forklift certified and operate material-handling equipment safely.

• Knowledge of measuring and testing devices, hand tools, and power tools.

• Basic math abilities to support material tracking and documentation.

• Mechanical aptitude to support equipment and material flow needs.

• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.

• Uncompromising commitment to safety.

• Ability to communicate effectively and work both independently and collaboratively.

Physical Abilities

• Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry materials as required in a production environment.

• Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, cranes, and elevated work platforms.

• Ability to wear required PPE, which may include enhanced visibility clothing, eye protection, head protection, fall arrest harnesses, hearing protection, steel-toed footwear, respirators, welding PPE, and face shields.

• Ability to perform material handling tasks for extended periods, including standing, walking, reaching, and repetitive motions.

Compensation & Benefits

Below is the expected base hourly range for this position. This is a good-faith estimate, and offers will be determined based on experience, education, skill set, and interview performance.

Base Hourly Range: $17.00–$28.00 USD
