The Materials Lead supervises materials personnel and coordinates the activity after material is inspected through point of use. Additionally, the Materials Lead ensures the stockroom is running efficiently by carrying out the duties and responsibilities defined below.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Offers leadership and supervision to team members during daily activity.

Enforces all company policies and procedures. This includes but is not limited to directives found in the employee handbook, quality manual, WI’s, QP’s, and standard work.

Monitors work requirements and allocates labor in a way that meets daily requirements. Works with the Material Coordinator to fulfill necessary shortcomings.

Ensures the stockroom is organized in a manner which allows safe and efficient storage of material while maximizing utilization of available floor space.

Responsible for promoting continuous improvement activity within the stockroom as well as up and downstream areas.

Develop and execute performance measures and deploy lean tools within stockroom.

Ensures inventory locations and counts are accurate through systematic auditing activity and enforcing discipline and attention to detail with team members.

Manages and prioritizes all staging activity in a way that meets production requirements.

Supports Material Coordinator in timely completion of BOM Change and Product Containment activity.

Responsible to ensure return to stock and line requisition requirements are handled in a timely manner.

Monitors employee training and ensures staff has adequate and up to date records.

Provides input for employee performance evaluations.

Enforces proper use of the timesheet system and makes sure all timesheets are correct and signed off before the required deadline.

Monitors inventory of boxes, appropriate packaging materials along with other necessary supplies and equipment and places requisitions as required.

Organizes jobs and assigns labor to proper priorities

Knows the status of jobs that need to ship

Supervises employees, trains them to correct procedures, monitors quantity and quality, evaluates performance

Monitors inventory for boxes and appropriate packing materials

Interacts with various departments to resolve count discrepancies, incorrect serial numbers, etc.

Communicates issues with shipping to proper department

Communicates with other departments as necessary to resolve any issues that arise.

Any other task as requested by supervisor
Job Requirements

High School Diploma/GED
-
1+ year Leadership experience, preferred
-
Strong attention to detail
-
Strong math and organizational skills
-
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Ability to work flexible schedule to meet materials demands
-
Experience shipping/receiving/inspecting product in a manufacturing environment, strongly preferred
