Job Description – Online Mathematics Teacher (Part-Time / Full-Time)

Position: Online Mathematics Teacher
Mode: Online (Live classes via Zoom/Google Meet/teaching platform)
Boards/Levels: Middle & High School – (ICSE / CBSE / IGCSE / IB / State Board – as applicable)

1. Role Summary

We are looking for a patient, concept-focused Mathematics teacher to conduct online classes for school students. The teacher will be responsible for planning lessons, teaching live sessions, clearing doubts and tracking student progress.

2. Key Responsibilities

• Teach Mathematics to students of assigned grades/boards through live online classes.
• Plan and deliver concept-based, engaging lessons (not just rote problem solving).
• Prepare class notes, practice worksheets, homework and tests.
• Help students with doubt-solving via class, chat, or scheduled doubt sessions.
• Track and report student progress periodically to the coordinator/parents.
• Use digital tools (Whiteboard, PPT, screen share, PDFs, Google Classroom, etc.) effectively.
• Ensure timely completion of syllabus and exam-oriented preparation (school exams / board exams).
• Provide regular feedback and tips to improve speed, accuracy and problem-solving skills.
• Maintain discipline and professionalism in every class and follow institute policies.

3. Essential Requirements

• Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics / Engineering / Science or related field.
• (Master’s in Mathematics/Education is an added advantage.)
• Experience:
• Minimum 1–2 years of teaching Mathematics (online or offline).
• Experience with any school board syllabus – ICSE / CBSE / IGCSE / IB / State Board (mention what you need).
• Technical Skills:
• Good computer literacy (using Zoom/Meet, online whiteboard, screen share, PDFs, etc.).
• Stable laptop/desktop, good quality webcam & mic, and reliable internet connection.
• Teaching Skills & Qualities:
• Strong command over Mathematics concepts (algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, etc. as per level).
• Ability to explain concepts in simple, clear language with examples.
• Fluent in English (and [add local language if required, e.g. Hindi/Marathi]).
• Patient, encouraging, and comfortable teaching mixed-ability learners.
• Good communication and classroom management skills in an online setting.

4. Preferred (Good to Have)

• Prior experience with online tutoring platforms or digital classrooms.
• Familiarity with exam patterns of IGCSE/IB/ICSE/CBSE (as per your requirement).
• Ability to teach multiple grades (e.g. 6–10 or 8–12).
• Experience in creating question papers, mock tests, and solutions.

5. Work Schedule & Compensation

• Working Hours: Peak timings mostly.
• Type: Part-time / Full-time / Hourly basis.
• Compensation: Competitive, based on experience and demo performance.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: ₹24,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month

Expected hours: 54 per week
