We are seeking a passionate, student-centered 6th Grade Math Teacher to join a growing public charter school in Plainfield, NJ. What You’ll Do

• Deliver rigorous and engaging math instruction aligned with state standards for 6th grade.
• Develop lesson plans that support mastery of key concepts including ratios, expressions, equations, geometry, and data analysis.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the varying needs of students, including those needing intervention or enrichment.
• Use data-driven practices to assess student progress and adjust instruction for continuous improvement.
• Build a positive classroom environment that fosters collaboration, curiosity, and a growth mindset toward mathematics.
• Incorporate math-related technology tools to enhance learning and engagement.
• Collaborate with grade-level and content teams to develop curriculum and share best practices.
• Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and school-wide initiatives.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by school leadership.

What You’ll Bring

Required:

• Valid New Jersey Standard Teacher Certificate or CE/CEAS/Limited CE in Mathematics or related field
• Strong understanding of math content and pedagogy for middle school learners
• Demonstrated ability to build strong classroom culture and positive relationships with students
• Effective communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills
• Commitment to equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive teaching
• Successful criminal background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal residency

Preferred:

• Experience teaching math at the middle school level
• Prior experience in a charter or public school environment
• Ability to integrate technology and real-world applications into math instruction
