Mechanical Design Engineer – Aerospace

About the Role

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with strong experience in CATIA V6, Teamcenter, and aerospace component design to join our engineering services team. The position focuses on designing and developing critical engine and mechanical components while ensuring structural integrity and manufacturability.

This role involves collaboration across design, stress analysis, and manufacturing teams to deliver next-generation solutions for complex mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and model aerospace and mechanical components using CATIA V6 / V5 and manage data in Teamcenter PLM.
• Apply Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) to ensure precision and compliance with ASME Y14.5 standards.
• Participate in full product lifecycle from conceptual design and prototyping through validation and release.
• Collaborate with stress analysts, manufacturing engineers, and materials teams to optimize designs.
• Conduct design reviews, tolerance stack-ups, and risk assessments for key components.
• Support design-for-manufacture (DFM) and design-for-assembly (DFA) initiatives.
• Prepare engineering documentation and coordinate release through PLM systems.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• 3–10 years of experience in mechanical / aerospace component design.
• Hands-on expertise in CATIA V6 / V5 and Teamcenter PLM.
• Strong understanding of GD&T, mechanical tolerancing, and assembly constraints.
• Experience designing for metallic and composite materials.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Skills

• Exposure to stress analysis, manufacturing, or aerospace engine hardware.
• Experience working with regulated environments (ITAR / DoD).
• Familiarity with design release and configuration management best practices.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $83,423.74 - $150,000.00 per year
