Mechanical Design Engineer (Switchgear) - NO REMOTE JOB

Infinitum Technologies Pvt. Ltd. is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with a strong background in switchgear design. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and reviewing mechanical components and assemblies for LV/MV switchgear systems, ensuring compliance with international standards and best engineering practices.

Responsibilities:

1) Design, develop and review switchgear mechanical design, including LV/MV enclosures, panel structures, e-houses, and busbar arrangements.

2) Design compliance and familiarity with IEC, NEMA, UL, and ANSI standards related to switchgear and enclosure design.

3) Knowledge of mechanical strength analysis, fit & tolerance, and material selection (steel, aluminum, copper busbar supports, etc.).

4) Understanding of ergonomics, safety, and accessibility considerations in switchgear layouts.

5) Strong communication (English), teamwork, and documentation skills for effective cross-department collaboration.

Experience/Skills:

1) Hands-on experience of 2-3 years in switchgear mechanical design, including LV/MV enclosures, panel structures, e-houses, and busbar arrangements.

2) Experience in 3D modeling and detailed fabrication drawings for sheet metal assemblies, busbar supports, brackets, and panel layouts.

3) Experience in preparing Bill of Materials (BOMs), GA drawings, and coordinating with electrical and production teams for integration.

4) Ability to design for thermal management, IP protection, vibration resistance, and mechanical interlocking requirements. Excellent written and verbal communication.

5) Ability to work effectively in an office-based environment.

Qualification:

1) Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.

2) Proficiency in CAD tools such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD Inventor, Fusion 360, PTC Creo, Siemens NX or Catia for switchgear mechanical design and drafting.
