Mechanical Designer

Position Summary:

This position will create mechanical prints using AutoCAD and manage bill of materials through our ERP system for various production projects, including industrial silos, waste hauling tanks, and custom bins. This role involves reviewing specifications and data to develop mechanical layouts, collaborating with sales, engineers, and clients to understand project requirements, and working closely with manufacturing to improve processes and resolve issues. Additionally, you will coordinate with purchasing to specify materials for projects. Success in this role requires a continuous-improvement mindset, a positive attitude, and exceptional attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with sales, engineering, and clients to understand the requirements for new projects or mechanical systems.
• Utilize CAD software to plan and develop models and shop prints based on determined materials and specifications.
• Partner with manufacturing to implement improvements and resolve issues.
• Work in a team-based environment to bring projects from concept to completion.
• Adhere to strict safety regulations.
• Assist with additional projects as needed.

Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree in mechanical design or equivalent required.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of AutoDesk Inventor is a plus.
• 2 – 3 years of experience, preferably in a fast-paced engineering environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of fabricated metal products is advantageous.
