Mechanical Designer / Production Support Specialist

We’re a growing manufacturer of hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders and valves, and we’re looking for a hands-on, mechanically inclined individual to join our team in a hybrid design and support role.

This is not your average CAD desk job. You’ll be working closely with the production floor, creating mechanical drawings in both 2D and 3D CAD software, pulling BOMs, and supporting each job through the full production process. You’ll see your designs become real parts just steps away from your desk.

What You’ll Do:

• Create accurate mechanical drawings and 3D models for parts that will be manufactured in-house.
• Build complete drawing packages and BOMs for each project.
• Collaborate with machinists and troubleshoot issues during production.
• Design and build custom products and prototypes.
• Support and improve our facility equipment and tooling.
• Solve problems with creativity and curiosity (yes, Googling counts).
• Organize and manage steel, seals, tooling, and production parts using our KANBAN system (includes setting up shelving, bins, and labeling tools consistently).
• Ensure documentation and tooling descriptions are consistent across setup sheets, purchase orders, and KANBAN tickets.

Who You Are:

• Mechanically minded with a strong attention to detail.
• Comfortable getting your hands dirty.
• Proficient (or eager to become proficient) in CAD (2D and 3D).
• A natural problem-solver who takes initiative.
• Organized and reliable.

Bonus Points For:

• Experience with G-code or machining.
• Familiarity with KANBAN systems.
• Any background in mechanical design, fabrication, or machine shop work.
