Mechanical Engineer

Job Summary

We are expanding our engineering department and are seeking a highly motivated and experienced R&D Mechanical Engineer to join our team. As an R&D Mechanical Engineer, you will be primarily responsible for product research, development, testing, and the innovation of new and existing products, as well as building prototypes.

A successful candidate will possess excellent mechanical and fabrication knowledge, with the ability to operate a lathe or milling machines, a proven track record of project management and execution, a strong communication and organizational skills, and a solid understanding of engineering principles. Proficiency in SolidWorks modeling, single parts, sub-assemblies, complex assemblies, and drawing creation is required. AutoCAD 2D knowledge is a plus but not required.

Duties

• Develop new mechanical concepts and prototypes.
• Work with Manufacturing shop, Planning, Sales & Marketing, and Engineering Management to determine the feasibility of designs
• Conduct feasibility studies for new product designs.
• Research technology advancements and competitor products.
• Identify technical challenges and develop innovative solutions.
• Create detailed CAD models and run FEA simulations using SolidWorks.
• Build and oversee the development of physical prototypes.
• Develop testing protocols, execute tests, and analyze results.
• 3D print parts
• Machining parts using lathe or mill machinery
• Participate in design review sessions

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• 2 – 4 years of experience in mechanical engineering.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles.
• Understanding of manufacturing practices and process.
• Knowledge of materials (metals, plastics)
• Familiar with ASME standards (Y14.5), GD&T is a plus, but not required.
• Demonstrate ability to manage and balance multiple projects / assignments and prioritize as required.
• SolidWorks proficient
• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD 2D
• Proficient using Microsoft Office
• Mechanically inclined person
• Ability to Multitask
• Good team player
• Excellent communication skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $80,000.00 per year
