Pride Health is hiring a Medical Laboratory Scientist to support our client’s medical facility in Denver CO 80209 This is a 12-month assignment with the possibility of a contract-to-hire opportunity, and it's a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!



Job Title: Medical Laboratory Scientist

Location: Denver CO 80209

Pay Range: $25-$32.88 per hour

Schedule: Third shift 11pm-7:30am MT

Duration: 12 Months+



*The salary is determined by an individual's level of experience, as well as any relevant licenses and certifications they may hold.*


Job Responsibilities:

  1. Follow all laboratory procedures for specimen handling, processing, test analysis, reporting, and maintaining patient test records.
  2. Maintain accurate documentation demonstrating that proficiency testing samples are handled the same as patient specimens.
  3. Perform specimen analysis using approved testing procedures per department SOPs.
  4. Review and release patient test results with accuracy and attention to detail.
  5. Comply with CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and all applicable safety guidelines.
  6. Adhere to laboratory quality control policies; document all QC activities, instrument calibrations, procedural calibrations, and maintenance.
  7. Follow established protocols when test systems fall outside acceptable performance limits.
  8. Identify issues that may affect test performance or result reporting; correct problems or promptly notify a senior technologist or supervisor.
  9. Document all corrective actions taken for deviations in performance specifications.
  10. Follow departmental procedures for reporting STAT and critical results to clients.
  11. If applicable, respond to questions from customers or laboratory personnel.
  12. Maintain complete and accurate records of all on-site testing performed.
  13. Uphold general cleanliness and organization of the department.
  14. Ensure all reagents and test kits are properly labeled with received, expiration, and opened dates.
  15. Review and train on new procedures as required.
  16. Attend monthly departmental meetings and any additional training or educational sessions.
  17. Participate in all required safety training; know locations of the safety manual and safety equipment.
  18. Assist with government or regulatory inspections as needed.
  19. Perform additional duties assigned by the supervisor.


Required Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of basic laboratory testing.
  • Proficiency in computer systems and ability to work within multiple LIS platforms.
  • Solid knowledge of Quality Control (QC), Quality Assurance (QA), and general laboratory operations.

Education Requirements:

  • BS in Medical Technology preferred; OR
  • BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology; OR
  • Associate degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Technology; OR
  • Previously qualified as a Technologist under 42 CFR 493.1433 (March 14, 1990).
  • Foreign-educated candidates must provide an IERF credential evaluation.
  • U.S.-educated candidates must provide original transcripts.
  • National certification (ASCP or AMT) as MT/MLT preferred or eligibility required.


Work Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year of clinical laboratory experience performing high-complexity testing preferred.
  • For candidates with BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology: at least 1 year of high-complexity clinical laboratory experience.
  • State and national licensure required, if applicable.


Special Requirements:

  1. Ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple procedures simultaneously.
  2. Collaborate effectively with other departments.
  3. May require direct communication with clients; strong customer service skills needed.
  4. Must maintain strict patient confidentiality.

Additional Details:

  • This is a night shift position (11:00 PM – 7:30 AM).
  • Flexibility required based on business needs.
