Medical Laboratory Technologist

Job Description

The incumbent shall be responsible to:

1. Perform specimen reception, preparation, and packing of specimens.
2. Assist with telephone reception duties and ensure patients' bills are accurate and correct.
3. Carry out specimen analysis, operate, maintain and troubleshoot the analysers and validation of results.
4. Able to troubleshoot and explain basic problems and escalate when required.
5. Knowledgeable on Quality Control (QC) (eg. Westgard, criteria, EQA) and verification of QC results and assist to troubleshoot issues.
6. Adhere to the department's standard operating procedures and safety requirements.
7. Assist in the supervision and guiding of junior staff.
8. Revise or write new SOP.

Job Requirements

1. Degree in relevant field or equivalent.
2. At least 2 years of relevant working experiences.
3. To perform 3 rotating shifts - morning, afternoon and night shifts.
