SCHEDULE
● Monday through Friday
● 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (or later if required to complete all daily activities)
● On occasion some evening and weekend work may be required
OVERVIEW
The primary function of the Receptionist is to facilitate the smooth flow of patients into and out of the front office.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
● Represent the practice in a professional manner at all times
● Be aligned with the office’s philosophy on vaccines, use of medications and the overall quality of care
● Follow standard operating procedures
● Check patients in and out, ensure portal access is explained and verify patient insurance policies
● Complete PCP change forms and fax in when needed
● Verify that all required forms are filled out for each patient, signed, scanned in and attached to charts
● Schedule follow up appointments as needed when patient is checking out
● Collect patient payments and reconcile TOS money every day
● Call No Show patients daily and reschedule/bill as needed
● Verify insurance eligibility on day of service
● Monitor and handle tasks assigned to the receptionists inbox in Athena
● Maintain cleanliness in the waiting room and patient bathroom throughout the day
● Fill in for the Schedulers when they are out of the office
● Make reports as required to the Customer Services Supervisor on the status of the assigned functions
● Maintain HIPPA and OSHA compliance at all times
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
● Support the marketing and advertising efforts
REQUIREMENTS
● Excellent communication, computer and organizational skills
● Ability to multitask
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
● No educational requirements
● At least two years of experience as a receptionist in a medical environment
PREFERRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
● Spanish speaking
Job Type: Full-time
Base Pay: $15.00 - $19.00 per hour
