Medical Technologist, SingHealth Tissue Repository (2-year contract)

You will be responsible for tissue harvesting as well as collecting and processing of blood specimens from various departments. You will be responsible for the preparation of reagents and laboratory material used in assigned routine or specialised areas. You will also be involved in inventory stock taking, administration and documentation work and be trained in consent taking.

You will be involved in microtomy, histochemical stains and immunohistochemistry. You will perform FISH, Immuno-FISH, ISH, SISH and CISH, mRNA procedures and the extraction of DNA and RNA. You will also assist to devise new assays in immunodiagnostics and its related fields.

Job requirements

• Degree in Life Sciences or any related discipline
• Previous working experience in a histopathology laboratory or research environment will be advantageous
• Strong teamwork orientation and ability to manage cross-functional and institutional relationships are essential
