NOTICE OF VACANCY

MINERAL COUNTY IS SEEKING LETTERS OF INTEREST FOR THE OFFICE OF: DISTRICT ATTORNEY

The Board of Mineral County Commissioners (Board) is seeking letters from interested persons wishing to be appointed to the office of Mineral County District Attorney, an office which will become vacant effective December 11, 2025. The appointment may be as an interim and/or permanent appointment for the remainder of an unexpired term but not to exceed the first Monday in January, 2027.

The office of Mineral County District Attorney is a non-partisan office. Applicants must meet the following qualifications:

• Must be admitted to practice law in the State of Nevada and be an active member in good standing of the State Bar of Nevada;
• Must have attained the age of 21 years on the date he/she would take office;
• Is a qualified elector of State of Nevada;
• Must not have been convicted of a felony or any offense involving moral turpitude, regardless of whether or not civil rights have been restored.

All letters of interest and supporting documentation to be used for consideration of appointment are to be submitted to the Mineral County Clerk, PO Box 1450, 105 South 'A' Street, Suite 1, Hawthorne, Nevada 89415 or can be e-mailed to the Clerk at clerk-treasurer@mineralcountynv.org.

Letters of interest and support documentation must be received by the County Clerk by 5:00 p.m. on December 2, 2025.

Letters/documentation received after the deadline will not be considered.

The Board will meet on December 3, 2025 to review letters of interest and supporting documentation, conduct interviews and make an interim and/or temporary appointment to fill the vacancy. All applicants should attend this meeting for the purpose of being interviewed and considered for appointment.

Pay: $136,417.00 per year
