Music Teacher

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Music Teacher to join our dynamic school. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in music theory and practical skills, and a proven ability to engage students of all ages. The role involves teaching music theory, vocal and instrumental music, and leading music programs.

Responsibilities:

• Curriculum Development:
• Develop and implement comprehensive music curricula aligned with the school's educational philosophy and national/state standards.
• Create engaging lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs and abilities of students from Nursery to Grade 12.
• Teaching:
• Conduct music classes, including theory, vocal training, and instrumental instruction.
• Teach a variety of musical styles and genres, such as classical, contemporary, and world music.
• Encourage students to develop their musical talents and creativity through individual and group practice.
• Music Programs:
• Organize and lead music programs, such as choirs, bands, and orchestras.
• Prepare students for music competitions, festivals, and performances.
• Collaborate with other departments to integrate music into various school events and celebrations.
• Assessment and Evaluation:
• Assess students' progress through regular evaluations and assessments.
• Provide constructive feedback to help students improve their musical skills.
• Maintain accurate records of students' achievements and progress.
• Classroom Management:
• Create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Manage classroom behavior effectively and promote discipline.
• Use a variety of teaching methods to engage students and stimulate their interest in music.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Music Education or a related field.
• Strong proficiency in music theory, aural skills, and musical notation.
• Experience in teaching music to students of different age groups.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and parents.
• Passion for music and a commitment to fostering a love of music in students.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Music Education or a related field.
• Experience in conducting music ensembles.
• Knowledge of various musical instruments.
• Ability to use music software and technology in the classroom.
