Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Network Operations Center (NOC) Technician to monitor, manage, and support our complex IT and network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in computer networking, system administration, and network security, with experience supporting enterprise-level WAN, LAN, and data center environments. This role involves proactive network monitoring, troubleshooting, and ensuring high availability of critical systems across diverse platforms including Cisco, Juniper, VMware, AWS, and various operating systems. The NOC Technician will play a vital role in maintaining the integrity and security of our network infrastructure through continuous assessment and support.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor network performance using tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, and Splunk to identify and resolve issues proactively.
  • Support and troubleshoot network devices including Cisco routers, ASA firewalls, Meraki switches, Juniper devices, and SD-WAN solutions.
  • Manage network security protocols including VPNs (IPsec), IDS/IPS systems, Cisco ISE for authentication, PKI implementations, LDAP integration, and SSL encryption.
  • Perform configuration management and deployment tasks utilizing scripting languages such as Bash (Unix shell), PowerShell, Python, and Ansible for automation.
  • Maintain network infrastructure including LAN/WAN configurations, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP EIGRP), MPLS networks, DNS/DHCP services, and load balancing solutions.
  • Administer virtualized environments using VMware vSphere, vCenter, Citrix XenDesktop/XenApp; support cloud security measures in AWS and Azure environments.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments and participate in incident response activities to ensure network security compliance with ITIL standards.
  • Assist with network installation projects involving switches, firewalls (Cisco ASA), SDLC processes, high availability configurations, SAN/NFS storage systems.
  • Provide remote access support via SSH, SFTP, VPNs; troubleshoot telecommunication issues related to VoIP and QoS services.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on system upgrades and deployment of new hardware/software solutions while adhering to SDLC best practices.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience supporting enterprise IT infrastructure with a focus on computer networking concepts such as TCP/IP protocols, routing protocols (OSPF/EIGRP/BGP), VLANs, Ethernet switching.
  • Strong knowledge of network security technologies including firewalls (Cisco ASA), IDS/IPS systems, SSO solutions like LDAP/Active Directory.
  • Hands-on experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere or vCenter; familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure is preferred.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash) for automation; experience with configuration management tools like Ansible is a plus.
  • Familiarity with operating systems including Windows Server/Client OSes (Windows 10/Server), Linux distributions (Ubuntu/Debian/CentOS/Red Hat), UNIX variants (Solaris/BSD).
  • Understanding of network management tools such as SolarWinds or SolarWinds equivalents; ability to perform vulnerability assessments using tools like Splunk or PRTG.
  • Knowledge of telecommunication systems including VoIP protocols; experience supporting high availability architectures is desirable.
  • Relevant certifications such as CCNA/CCNP Cisco certifications or equivalent networking credentials are preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to diagnose complex network issues quickly; excellent communication skills for technical documentation and team collaboration. Pay: $26.00 - $29.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
