Night Shift Warehouse Manager (Hands-On Role)

Due to recent growth, we are seeking a highly motivated and hands-on Night Shift Warehouse Manager to oversee our crucial operations.

Schedule and Compensation

• Primary Schedule: Night Shift Sunday through Thursday.
• Hours: This role requires flexibility to manage a continuous operation. Must be able to work different shifts, start times, and end times, with the ability to work overtime as needed. The facility is operational Sunday AM through Friday PM.
• Work Style: This is a hands-on role (approx. 90% operational/physical duties, 10% administrative/supervisory duties).

Key Responsibilities

The Night Shift Warehouse Manager is responsible for the efficient operation of the facility, inventory control, and leadership of the team. Duties are split into three main areas:

1. Warehouse Operations & Safety

• Manage all night shift warehouse operations from Sunday through Thursday.
• Plan and manage the use of resources, including labor, time, and materials.
• Ensure all safety procedures are followed and maintain equipment.

2. Inventory Control & Logistics

• Lead daily inventory management, including performing cycle counts in cold storage (freezer/cooler).
• Proactively manage product rotation (FIFO) and maintain excellent attention to detail regarding inventory accuracy.
• Communicate daily with the Sales staff to understand customer demands, route trucks, schedule local deliveries, and coordinate incoming shipments.
• Adapt to the company's computer system and collaborate with the Inventory Control department daily.

3. Team Leadership & Hands-On Work

• Supervise and motivate warehouse staff, overseeing employee performance.
• Serve as a self-starter who can take initiative to fix problems efficiently rather than focusing on blame.
• Perform hands-on tasks including safely lifting 40+ lbs, operating forklifts and electric ride-on pallet jacks, and unloading/loading containers.

Required Qualifications (Must Haves)

• 5+ years of progressive experience in warehouse operations.
• Valid California Driver's License.
• Forklift Certified (experienced with Standup Forklifts and Electric Rider Pallet Jacks).
• Proven ability to reliably commute to Oakland, CA.

Preferred Experience (Nice to Haves)

• Prior Supervisor or Lead experience.
• Experience in the Food Industry or Perishable Goods distribution.
• Prior experience working in Cold Storage/Freezer environments.

Core Competencies & Physical Requirements

• Computer Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Analytical Skills: Excellent math skills with the ability to count boxes quickly and accurately.
• Prioritization: A strong understanding of priorities—what is needed now and what can wait.
• Physical Stamina: Hands-on mentality with the ability to safely lift 40 lbs or more and perform tasks in various warehouse environments (including freezer/cooler).
• Attitude: Possesses a positive attitude and demeanor, capable of finding solutions rather than complaining about problems.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
