Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Nuclear Gauge Technician to join our team immediately. The ideal candidate must have a valid QID, NOC, and be available to start right away. The Nuclear Gauge Technician will be responsible for ensuring the proper operation, calibration, and maintenance of nuclear gauges used in material testing. This includes performing sample testing, analyzing data, and reporting to the Material Engineer.

Responsibilities:

  • Sample Inspection & Testing:
  • Check the condition of received samples and reject improperly taken or incomplete samples.
  • Receive samples from the Sample Receipt area and begin testing them according to defined standards.
  • Analysis & Reporting:
  • Perform required analysis as per approved international reference test methods.
  • Report all analysis data to the Material Engineer in the form of work sheets.
  • Equipment Calibration & Maintenance:
  • Maintain the integrity of lab instruments and testing equipment.
  • Inform the Material Engineer of any abnormalities or issues related to instruments or testing procedures.
  • Ensure good housekeeping practices in the testing area.
  • Calibrate nuclear gauges and lab instruments according to the calibration schedule outlined in the calibration status of the instruments.
  • Field Work:
  • Conduct field trips to collect samples upon request.
  • Shift & Schedule Compliance:
  • Follow the designated lab shift schedule and adhere to time-keeping standards.
  • Follow all instructions from the Material Engineer related to lab work.

Requirements:

  • Valid QID and NOC required (immediate availability).
  • Proven experience as a Nuclear Gauge Technician or in a similar role with knowledge of nuclear gauge calibration and maintenance.
  • Familiarity with international reference test methods and lab standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with a team.
  • Ability to conduct field trips for sample collection and nuclear gauge operation when required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: QAR2,200.00 - QAR2,800.00 per month
